The album Old No. 1 Revisited is a track-by-track homage to Guy Clark’s landmark 1975 album, Old No. 1 , and is out now on vinyl. The album brings together a wide array of Americana artists to pay tribute to Clark’s debut album, with tracks covered by Margo Price, Jade Bird, Sarah Jarosz, Erin Rae, Brennen Leigh, Logan Ledger, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Andrew Combs with Rodney Crowell, Kelsey Waldon and Caroline Randall Williams.
Brennen Leigh has just released a video for her cover of Clark’s “Texas 1947” from the album.
While not a commercial success when it was released, Old No. 1 was highly praised by the press. “L.A. Freeway,” “Desperados Waiting For A Train,” “Rita Ballou” “Texas 1947” “Let Him Roll” and “That Old Time Feeling” became classics. Old No. 1 would go on to inspire generations of American songwriters, troubadours and music fans.
The tribute project was recorded in Nashville at Dan Knobler’s Good Wishes studio, the project was engineered and produced by Knobler (Lake Street Dive, Bahamas, Rodney Crowell), who says, “These songs do the work, all we have to do is cast them appropriately.”

Additional musicians include Jen Gunderman and Audley Freed (Sheryl Crow), Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson), Sam Bush, Jamie Dick, Chris Scruggs, Dennis Crouch, Rosanne Cash (harmony vocals), and Maya de Vitry (harmony vocals).
Proceeds from both Old No. 1 Revisited (album) and Old No. 1 at 50: A History of Guy Clark’s First Album (book) will benefit the Guy Clark Family Foundation.
