Ruth Moody has waited over a decade to release Wanderer, the follow up to 2013’s These Wilder Things. Out now, Moody recorded Wanderer at Sound Emporium in Nashville with co-producer Dan Knobler (Allison Russell, Lake Street Dive) and enlisted Tucker Martine (Madison Cunningham, First Aid Kit) to mix. The single and video for “Twilight” are out now, featuring her touring lineup of Sam Howard and Anthony da Costa.

Born in Australia and raised in Canada, the multi-instrumentalist and Wailin’ Jennys co-founder now splits her time between Nashville and Vancouver Island with her partner, musician Sam Howard (Molly Tuttle, Joy Williams) and their young son.

Moody brought together her favorite musicians for the recordings, including her partner, Sam Howard, who plays upright bass and provides backing vocals, her older brother Richard Moody , Jennys’ touring member Anthony da Costa, (guitars), Jason Burger (drums), Kai Welch (Keyboards), Russ Pahl (pedal steel), Adrian Dolan (string arrangements) and duet partner Joey Landreth (The Bros. Landreth) on “The Spell of the Lilac Bloom.”

Wanderer “explores the emotional journey of motherhood, the joy and pain of life, the mysterious and complicated dance of love, and ultimately the longing we all feel for home, wherever that might be.”
