Americana singer/songwriter R.P. Mixon has released the first single, “Thank You,” from his upcoming debut LP due later this year. The track is reflective and takes the end of a relationship in stride.
Mixon says:
‘Thank you’ is a song for warm summer nights and cold beers. And it’s relatable. We’ve all had those relationships that started out with so much hope and promise but ended with a frustrated ‘so long and thanks for all the memories.’
Written by R.P. Mixon, “Thank You” features his performance on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and bass. Joining him is Charlene Holloway on backing vocals, David Lenat adds electric guitar, Chad Gustafson on organ, and Ritchie DeCarlo on drums. The song was produced by R.P. Mixon and mixed by multi-platinum mix engineer Sylvia Massy, who also mixed Jason Isbell’s multi-Grammy winning album, Weathervanes. Recordings were co-engineered and mastered by Jim Salamone (Cambridge Studios, The Barn), with additional engineering by Brendan McGeehan (Elm Street Studios).
Hailing from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Mixon is inspired by the golden age of Rock and Country Rock when lyrics were hard-hitting. He will be playing select dates throughout 2024.
