Hot Freaks Look For Utopia With “Let’s Start A Country”

Indie Rock band Hot Freaks have released their new single “Let’s Start A Country” along with a music video. In support of the new music, the band has also announced new tour dates as support to The Happy Fits with Small Crush /Windser.

The band says:

‘Let’s Start a Country’ is a fairytale of independence. The audacious wish to find utopia right where we are; with donuts and higher principles. Until the predetermined spank of reality threatens a dream.

Hot Freaks pose “an unusual proposition” with their new single, a “utopian, if misguided fantasy” that anyone can relate to, particularly “the disappointment of an encroaching reality on the honeymoon period of an exciting new relationship.”

Minneapolis musicians Hot Freaks resurfaced nearly a decade after disbanding once viral hit “Puppy Princess” prompted a reunion tour and the resurfacing of music that had never been completed.

“Let’s Start a Country” is one such unearthed artifact. A treasure from a time capsule, the song has finally “found its home” as frontman Leo Vondracek puts it.
