Adelaide, Australia-born Producer and DJ Inkswel has introduced “New Day,” a “boogie-infused disco anthem”, featuring Soul artist Kylie Auldist and House of Beigh MC N’fa Jones. “New Day” is the second single from Inswel’s The Snagglepuss project Chasing Infinity, a concept LP out May 13th via Cosmocities Records. The album features a substantial guest list that takes a stylistic journey “from Hip-Hop and G-Funk to up-tempo broken beat, Boogie, and House”.

“New Day” features bass by Melbourne’s Stephen Lane and a chorus hook sung by Kylie Auldist, emphasizing the “uplifting and positive nature of the track”. The track is joined by an edit from Slum Village member and Detroit House artist Dez Andrès (DJ Dez), taking things in a more uptempo House direction.

Inkswel (Jules Habib) has spent much of the last two decades in the Northern Hemisphere DJing parties and club from Rhythm Section in London to Output in New York and has released music on BBE, Atjazz and Sonar Kollektiv, among other labels. For the Snagglepuss material, he’s taken a more collaborative approach, and much of this record was co-created with Stephen Lane on bass, Sloth on horns, and Inkswel’s partner, Erin Buku. Inskwel and the team’s genre-bending productions draw influence from P Funk, 80’s Pop, Boogie Funk, Classic 90’s Hip-Hop, and Contemporary Soul.
