Canadian Country artist Mitch Zorn has returned to his roots on his new single, “Nowhere Town,” available now via 604 Records. Co-written and produced by Aaron Gillespie, drummer and vocalist of Underoath, the track brings a Rock ‘n Roll edge to Zorn’s Country sound, turning a common phrase used to look down on small communities into “a point of pride.”

The song came along after Zorn “returned to work in the oil patch, where time away from the day-to-day of music gave him room to think about what he wanted to make next.” He wrote a batch of songs that are “louder, simpler and more direct; country music made for working people.”

The title came from one of the first questions Gillespie asked when the two sat down to write: where was Zorn from? The answer opened up a larger conversation about his upbringing in Nakusp, BC, and the way growing up in a small town stays with you long after you leave.

Zorn shares:

When Aaron asked where I was from, I kind of laughed and said, ‘Just some nowhere town in British Columbia. But the more we talked about it, the more I realized there’s nothing ‘nowhere’ about a place that made you who you are. Going back to work in the oil patch gave me a lot of time to think about the music I want to make, and this song feels like the start of that — simple, loud and honest country music for people who work hard and are proud of where they come from.

Raised in Nakusp and now based in Kelowna, Zorn spent four years living and working in Texas and Tennessee before returning to Canada. Those years on the road helped shape the mix of Country and Rock that runs through his music, while his return home brought the focus back to the people, places and experiences he knows firsthand.

In 2025, Zorn released his debut EP through 604 Records, introducing listeners to the Country and Pop-Punk influences that continue to come together in his latest music.

Zorn has also spent the past year on the road supporting artists including Jess Moskaluke, James Barker Band and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
