UK-based Five-piece 1000 Rabbits, formerly known as Rabbitfoot, have release their debut EP Are we friends yet?, a six-track release that captures the band’s first two years. Featuring recent singles “Virgin Soil” and “Rubik’s Cube”, the EP arrives digitally and as 12” physical record via Young (Sampha, The xx, Robyn, FKA twigs, Kamasi Washington).

The project arrives alongside a new video directed by South London artist, Ché Deedigan, titled “Bear Hunt.”

Written across living rooms, rehearsal spaces, and stages over the course of two years, Are we friends yet? has some tracks that date back to the band’s earliest days, while others are more recent. Each track has also been molded through live performance, evolving night after night.

The EP’s title comes from a moment that has emerged in their live show, a question posed during the closing track “Spring Cleaning”, the final song of both the record and every set they play.

As the band explains:

These are 6 songs that we feel capture our first two years as a band. They are, in some ways, us putting our heart on our sleeve, and saying, ‘this is us. ‘this is what we want to say.’ We’re going to change and develop. These are just beginnings. Thanks to everyone who came and watched us develop these tunes over the past couple of years. You are responsible for these being our favourites; they wouldn’t exist without you.
