Mayday Parade’s “Blame It On The Youth” Kicks Off The Third Part Of Their 20th Anniversary Album Trilogy

Pop-Punk band Mayday Parade have released the single “Blame It On The Youth,” along with a video, teasing the third installment of their three-part album trilogy celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary.

The trilogy, which includes Sweet and Sad released in 2025, marks Mayday Parade’s first self-release since their 2006 debut EP Tales Told By Dead Friends, which they sold in Vans Warped Tour parking lots. That DIY release went on to sell more than 50,000 copies and laid the foundation for a two-decade career.

“Blame It On The Youth” is an “ode to blissful recklessness” and was built around a chorus from drummer Jake Bundrick.

Guitarist Brooks Betts shares:

Jake came in with this amazing song that we were all drawn to. We knew instantly it was important to get the track right but we really just had a solid chorus and loose verse melodies so the band quickly got to work constructing multiple versions of lyrics to finish the track. We worked together in a way that was truly collaborative and with the process feel we created something we are all super proud of.

The release of “Blame It On The Youth” follows Sweet and Sad and their 2025/2026 world tour. The band is also confirmed to return to this year’s Welcome to Rockville Festival, Sonic Temple Festival, Vans Warped Tour, Aftershock Festival, and much more.
