Alabama-native Drayton Farley will release his new album A Heavy Duty Heart on March 27th, 2026, via One Riot Records. Produced by Sadler Vaden, and with all songs written by Farley, A Heavy Duty Heart is a “meditation on love and fear.”
Lyrically, Farley “takes a hard look at his life, celebrating the good, lamenting the bad, and asking the questions that don’t always want to be answered.” The single “I’ll Hold You”, taken from the album, is out now.
Recorded live to tape in Nashville with Farley’s touring band, A Heavy Duty Heart is the first collection of material that Farley feels are “truly a full expression” with all 10 songs “of a piece with each other.”
Farley explains his philosophy behind songwriting:
I feel like if you’re going to write about yourself and your life, then just write about the way it is. That honesty is going to translate. People are going to know when you’re bullshitting them or not.

Due to some TV syncs, Farley has already released two other tracks from A Heavy Duty Heart. “It’s Called Doubt” was recently featured on the second season of the Paramount show Landman, and “Turn Around” appeared during an episode of CBS’ Sheriff Country.
Farley will perform an intimate album release show at Skinny Dennis in Nashville on March 27th, and more 2026 tour dates will be announced soon.
