Hit Like a Girl is the songwriting project of Nicolle Maroulis (they/them), joined by a rotating live lineup featuring Mol White (they/them) and Mike Davis (he/they). Drawing influence from Pop, Emo, Indie, and even Hardcore, the band “channels yearning, love, and loss.” Hit Like a Girl also “strives to represent trans and queer artists, inspiring them to follow their creative pursuits.”
The band has recently announced the forthcoming release of their album, Burning at Both Ends, due March 27, 2026 via the Philadelphia-based indie Cryptid Records. They have also released lead single, “Keepsake Theory” and its accompanying music video.
Speaking on Burning at Both Ends, Hit Like a Girl’s fifth album Maroulis explains:
It’s the first album I was able to write with the folks in my current live lineup.
The track “Keepsake Theory” mixes synths with guitar played by Jacob Blizard, frequent collaborator of Lucy Dacus and Illuminati Hotties, and explores “the exasperation and longing that comes with missed romantic connections.”

Burning At Both Ends takes its title from the common phrase “burning the candle at both ends.” But the album also begs the question, “What happens when there is nothing left to give?”
