Destani Wolf Teams Up With Connie Price & The Keystones For A Holiday 45 Featuring “Share Your Peace” And “New Years Resolution”

Vocalist Destani Wolf has joined forces with Funk collective Connie Price & The Keystones for a special holiday 45 record featuring “Share Your Peace” and “New Years Resolution.” It is available now digitally and as a collectible 45 via Color Red.

The A-side, “Share Your Peace,” takes a “contemplative look at the holidays, balancing hope with honest questioning.” Wolf reflects on “the contrast between seasonal excess and inner stillness.”

Wolf says:

I wrote this song thinking about how the holidays can be challenging. About people who don’t have much, the kids, consumerism. But also and always about the joy and the love that’s here for us all.

The flip side, “New Years Resolution,” reimagines the Otis Redding classic with Bay Area vocalist Martin Luther McCoy singing Redding’s part, while Wolf takes on the Carla Thomas role. The duet “centers on reconciliation and renewal.”

She adds:

I grew up listening to Otis Redding and have always loved his song ‘New Years Resolution.’ I love the idea of a fresh start for the new year and I’m so grateful to have the soul-stirring vocals of Bay Area treasure Martin Luther McCoy to be on this duet with me.

Producer Ubick contributes:

Taking on an Otis & Carla song can make most singers shake in their boots but as soon as Destani and Martin Luther tracked their vocals I knew we had two singers that felt confident they could bring their own unique soulful thing to this Stax-Volt classic while tipping their hats to the original version. We were cool.
