Independent New York-based Rock label Equal Vision Records and Bitter Branches have announced “Basic Karate,” the brand new single from the Philadelphia-based Post-Hardcore band. Consisting of veterans from the ‘90s hardcore scene, the members of Bitter Branches include Tim Singer (Deadguy, Kiss It Goodbye, No Escape), Jeff Tirabassi (Walleye), Matt Ryan (Calvary), Kevin Sommerville (Lighten Up!) and Dan Yemin (Lifetime, Kid Dynamite, Paint It Black).

The new track ruminates “about how easy it would be to join the dark side and just not give a shit.” The song was Produced by J. Robbins.

Bitter Branches tend to focus on an “honest observation of society, scrapes and scars.” Musically, the band “has little interest in conforming to the sound of the moment” and instead build upon skills honed over years of touring.
