New York Indie Rock artist Des Rocs has released a new single “This Land” featured in the opening sequence of the new Borderlands 4 game, out now.

For best-selling video game franchise Borderlands, Des Rocs composed and recorded the main theme song, following in the footsteps of Cage the Elephant and The Heavy.

Des Rocs says:

I’ll never forget the first call when they told me what they were looking for in a song for Borderlands 4. I couldn’t stop grinning. They were describing exactly where my heart lies. Rock n’ roll that’s loud, raw, unfiltered, built for a foreign landscape. This song has that unhinged wild energy, the one I felt when I first picked up a guitar. It’s real and it’s rowdy, just like the music I worshipped growing up.

Borderlands also sparked a collaboration with British Pop artist, Zayn and Des Rocs. The result is “Break Free,” written and produced by Des Rocs,  and recorded by Zayn, arriving this Friday, September 19, 2025.

Des Rocs also recently contributed a rendition of the Johnny Cash classic, “Ring of Fire” to Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody 2 film soundtrack.
