“Vita Nuova” From Corey Bernhard Represents A New Birth Of Hope, Passion, And Faith

Keyboardist, Producer, composer and house musician for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s band, Corey Bernhard has released “Vita Nuova,” the first single from his upcoming solo LP, A Blessed Leap into Eternity (Birdbrain Records). The song’s closing “represents a new birth of hope, passion, and faith”. Bernhard’s unique orchestration is filled out with fuzz bass, soprano sax, and piano, keyboards and synthesizers.

Bernhard says:

‘Vita Nuova’ is a musical manifestation of a conjuring of the elements to create a shift, awakening, or as the English translation of the title suggests, ‘New Life’.

A Blessed Leap into Eternity explores “themes of faith, God, love, and loss” through an experimental Folk Jazz suite. The seven original songs are rooted in  Bernhard’s love of Jazz, Hip-Hop, improvisation, and indie Rock, and he worked closely with engineer Michael Cumming in the engineer’s Kensington studio, Treacle Mine
