Keyboardist, Producer, composer and house musician for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s band, Corey Bernhard has released “Vita Nuova,” the first single from his upcoming solo LP, A Blessed Leap into Eternity (Birdbrain Records). The song’s closing “represents a new birth of hope, passion, and faith”. Bernhard’s unique orchestration is filled out with fuzz bass, soprano sax, and piano, keyboards and synthesizers.

Bernhard says:
‘Vita Nuova’ is a musical manifestation of a conjuring of the elements to create a shift, awakening, or as the English translation of the title suggests, ‘New Life’.
A Blessed Leap into Eternity explores “themes of faith, God, love, and loss” through an experimental Folk Jazz suite. The seven original songs are rooted in Bernhard’s love of Jazz, Hip-Hop, improvisation, and indie Rock, and he worked closely with engineer Michael Cumming in the engineer’s Kensington studio, Treacle Mine.
