Belgian singer, songwriter and Producer Nicolas Michaux previously shared the news of his upcoming third album, Vitalisme, arriving on October 18th, 2024 via Capitane Records. Now, he has also released the album’s fourth single, “Peace of Mind #2.”
Michaux shares about “Peace of Mind #2”:
This is a song I started working on as part of a socio-cultural project led by BOZAR in Brussels. A few months ago, I put it back on the table and decided to keep the chorus from my first version but change the verses and structure of the song.
The first verse is based on a poem I wrote a few years ago titled IRM (MRI in French) It was about my childhood and teenage years, I just had to continue the story for the following verses. This song is undoubtedly an evolution in my journey as a songwriter. I recorded my parts in my cabin on Samsø. Léo Garnier then laid down a cool drum part and Rodriguez Vangama added percussions and guitar.
Mixing French verses with an English chorus, the Belgian singer evokes his childhood, partly spent in hospitals, his youth in the streets of Paris, and his present life in Denmark.
The video accompanying the track is directed by Simon Vanrie. A frequent collaborator of Michaux, Vanrie has chosen to stay as close as possible to the direct nature of this autobiographical song.

Michaux reflects on the video:
My life has been quite chaotic in recent years, marked by a lot of travel, solitude, and wandering. The video captures this well. By choosing a rather radical approach for the video and going in the opposite direction of what we had done before, Simon Vanrie was able to capture the emotion and energy at the core of this song. I also like the effect of the multiplication of my character; it reminds us that we are all multiple and contain more than just one personality.
