The Collect Pond Takes ‘Lightbreaker’ On The Road This Autumn

Post-Punk Rock band, The Collect Pond have released their new album Lightbreaker, out now on all platforms. In support of their new music, the band will also be doing a few shows in the Northeast.

Their label, Candlepin Records says:

Inhabiting an alternative creative space where the grunge bubble didn’t burst in the 90s (or any decade), The Collect Pond instead wade ceaselessly in the waters of polished new wave & angular post-punk • led once again by primary songwriter Danny Moffat, the group have ratcheted up both their precision & song-construction with this new collection of 10 tracks, crafting hypnotic arrangements indebted to Cleaners from Venus, Pete Shelley, & XTC.

The Collect Pond is the name under which songwriter Danny Moffat produces his own music. Studio recordings often resemble a collective of musicians with a core four. They met through connections with the music blog Allston Pudding.

Moffat was born with a rare spinal condition called spina bifida, “which often manifests in debilitating nerve pain.” He says that he is “reminded everyday how much of a gift it is to physically make music, and that sense of urgency fuels the drive behind creating The Collect Pond.”
