Electric Violinist Ginny Luke’s debut solo vocal album, Devil at My Heels, is due out November 1, 2024 on KZZ Music/Blue Élan Records. The album’s second single, “Yeah Yeah Yeah,” was recently released on all digital outlets, including her official YouTube page.
Luke says:
It’s badass melodic rock with scorching violin. And a declaration of my autonomy and the journey of understanding my human experience.
Earlier this month, Luke also released a cover of Deep Purple’s “Burn” featuring guitar virtuoso Nili Brosh (Dethklok/Danny Elfman). The album was Produced by Dave Darling (Def Leppard, Brian Setzer) and Zackary Darling (John 5, Eric Gales).
As Luke says:
’Burn’ is a rock classic and I’m excited to make a statement by blending classical virtuosity with my style of rock electric violin. It was a blast to collaborate with incredible guitarist Nili Brosh on this and combine our energies to make this rendition really fiery. I transcribed Ritchie Blackmore’s guitar solo and Jon Lord’s organ feature and played them on violin. I love reveling in ‘rock royalty’ and expanding my palette as a musician.
While Luke has been releasing instrumental albums from a very early age, this album sees her collaborating with other musicians and taking on vocal duties. She also hopes to use Devil at My Heels as a way of sharing her experiences with assault and reach out to others.
She adds:
I want to be in control of the message and the emotional environment I create. With this amount of musical experience under my belt, I have a lot to say. And I want women to be more courageous, so I feel like I’m leading by example.
