Two Nashville-based Canadian artists have teamed up on a new track, platinum-selling artist Tebey and multi-award winner Tenille Arts. Their new duet is titled “Hangover At My Place.” The song was also penned by a team of Canadian writers including Tebey, Danick Dupelle, Griffen Palmer and Stu Walker (of The Reklaws).
The classic call-and-response track blends Tebey and Tenille’s vocals and explores the “chemistry of a chance late-night encounter” which results in an “unforgettable night.”
On the creative process, Tebey shares:
“I wrote this song with a really great group of writers. It took a few hours of tossing around song ideas before we eventually settled on the title ‘Hangover At My Place’. Initially we didn’t intend to write it as a duet, but once the chorus melody started to take shape, we thought it could be cool to have a male and female call and answer type chorus, which you don’t really hear much anymore.
I remember saying to my co-writers the day we wrote the song… ‘You know who would sound killer on this? Tenille Arts!’ So I was really excited when she agreed to sing it with me several months later.“
Tenille shares:
The first time I heard the song I was so excited. It felt like a throwback duet but also current and I was honoured that Tebey thought of me. They did such a great job of writing a back-and-forth style song that really captures the rush of a night out and meeting someone new. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!
