Berlin-based modular synthesist and DJ JakoJako, aka Sibel Koçer, has released her new Segmente EP on NovaMute. The release falls ahead of a busy summer of live dates that includes an appearance at Junction 2 festival in London today, on July 27th, 2024. All four tracks on the EP originated from her live shows.

Of the track “Introspektion” from the EP, JakoJako says:

This track was originally from a live set. Over the years I got a lot of track ID requests. Maybe someone recognises this one 😉

Koçer’s passion for electronics began with an urge to play with sound, and a desire to learn more about the world of modular systems and patch cables. Her studies soon progressed into performing regular live sets in Berlin, a Berghain Residency, and a position at Berlin electronic music institution, SchneidersLaden. 

The new EP follows the Verve EP (her debut for Mute), a full length album, (Metamorphose – 2022, Bigamo) and her collaboration with Rødhåd, (In Vere – 2022, WSNWG), both of which arrived on the heels of two remixes for Mute: New Order’s “Be A Rebel” and Martin Gore’s “Vervet.”
