Detroit-based Rock’n Roll duo We Are Scorpio (jessica Care moore and Steffanie Christi’an) have released their new video, “Scorpio.” It’s the latest taste from their self-titled debut album We Are Scorpio, out August 16, 2024 via Javotti Media.

The song’s lyrics “explore the essence of being a Scorpio.” The accompanying video showcases the group taking over the streets of Detroit. “Scorpio” also features the vocals of solo artist and frontwoman of the all-girl Heavy Metal collective Judas Priestess, Militia Vox

Christi’an says:

When jess and I had decided to move forward with the album, she said she wanted to make a song about Scorpios. She sent me a voice message with the hook. I added a bit for the bridge, and Gerard Wayne produced a dope track. We knew we wanted to include Militia Vox on the album, and that song was a perfect collaboration. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the record.

We Are Scorpio will also be playing two live shows in Detroit next month, joining this year’s Black Bottom Live Music Series on August 7 + celebrating 20 Years of Black Women Rock! at The Fillmore on August 31.

Following years of friendship and collaborations with Daughters of Betty powered by Black Women Rock!, the duo, made up of award-winning poet jessica Care moore and performer Steffanie Christi’an, have finally embarked on their Rock’n Roll project.

We Are Scorpio also includes award-winning trumpet player Maurice “Mobetta” Brown, with the album recorded at his studio in Brooklyn, as well as Divinity Roxx, Militia Vox, and Sada Baby.
