CMH RECORDS has previewed the upcoming release of Pickin’ On The Doors with the early release of “Riders on the Storm.” Pickin’ On The Doors is the latest installment of the label’s Pickin’ On series featuring Bluegrass interpretations of influential artists and it will be released on June 28, 2024.

After over 30 years and 80 albums, the Pickin’ On series is taking on The Doors for the first time, led by Bluegrass quartet Iron Horse.

Since 2003, Alabama Bluegrass quartet Iron Horse, featuring Ricky Rogers (Bass, Baritone Vocals), Tony Robertson (Mandolin, Harmony Vocals, Lead Vocals on “Bird of Prey”), Vance Henry (Guitar, Lead & Harmony Vocals) and Anthony Richardson (Banjo, Harmony Vocals) have been the main recording artist for Pickin’ On, delivering twists on classic music. 

Iron Horse’s Anthony Richardson says:

As I sat in the booth cutting the banjo track on ‘Riders On The Storm,’ I couldn’t help but think to myself, ‘this song could have easily evolved out of 1930s Appalachia. Dark times fall on each generation and music keeps us all connected.’

“Riders on the Storm” follows the previously released single and video “Break On Through (To the Other Side).” Both singles are also being released in Dolby Atmos. This is a first for the Pickin’ On releases.
