Groundbreaking songwriter Jack Tempchin is set to release his 13th studio album, More of Less, via Blue Élan Records on June 14, 2024. Tempchin collaborated with producer Jeff Larson after connecting at an America concert last year.
Over the last 50 years, Tempchin has written for The Eagles, George Jones and Emmylou Harris along with many more. Some of the hit songs Jack has penned include; “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “Slow Dancing,” “The One You Love,” “Already Gone,” “Someone That You Used to Know,” “White Shoes”, and more. His body of work was honored with his induction into The Songwriters Hall of Fame in June 2019.
The inception of More of Less spans the past few years, with its title track coming about during the tumultuous period of the 2020 shutdown.
Reflecting on this time, Tempchin says:
We were all isolated and I started going to the beach, all day every day, sitting on the cliff overlooking the ocean playing music that no one else could hear. A lot of the busy complications of life fell away and were replaced by simpler more beautiful things, like the music and the sea and the sky. I got happier and wrote this song to remind myself that More of Less can be a wonderful way to go.
Tempchin is also venturing into the realm of cinema with a one-night-only premiere screening of his film, Midnight Jack The Movie, which will take place in Los Angeles on June 20th, 2024 at Laemmle Royal Cinema in Westwood. Described as “…a voyage through the realms of dreams and memories with a pleasure hungry seeker of the truth,” the film is a combination of comedy, philosophy and music The film has already received an IndieFEST Film Award.
