Alternative singer-songwriter Sam Varga has released his new single “Alive!”, coming from his new album Shadow Work which is set to be released on June 14, 2024. The track summons the energy to rebel against the pressure of difficulties that have been piling up.
Sam Varga says about the single:
Alive! was born out of one big moment of “fuck it”. So many problems were compounding that the only thing I could do was laugh about it. So the song is a gigantic middle finger to whatever you’re going through. We had wrapped the album (Shadow Work) and I had this idea that on the last day of recording, we should just send it on a brand-new single and see if we could beat any of the others in the running. Dan had started playing something on the piano that we had both given each other “a look” over, and I wrote the beginning of the Alive! on the way home listening to the voice recording. We invited our buddy Spencer (Jordan), to finish it up and it became the single. Shot called.
In Support of his album, Sam Varga will be doing an album release show in his hometown, Nashville, Tennessee at Cannery Hall with Essy and Spencer Jordan on June 22nd, 2024.
