Last month, longtime drummer of Psych-Rock band OSEES, Dan Rincon announced his debut solo LP, Spotlight City, due out May 3rd, 2024 via Castle Face Records. Rincon has now revealed the second single from the upcoming LP, “Motor Rhythm, Wooden,” an “electro-orchestral” track.
Rincon shares about the track:
A track devoted to physical modeling synthesis.
Physical modeling is a method of synthesis that employs mathematical models to simulate the physical properties of acoustic instruments.
Electro acoustics collide to keep clinking and clanging, chugging and churning.
Get your motor runnin’…poorly.
He adds about the upcoming record:
I was listening to a lot of solo Roedelius and Conrad Schnitzler records while writing this record and I’d say that both have been hugely inspirational on what I want to do as a solo recording artist. The way both of those of those artist pushed the early, chaotic electronic music into something more melodic is really inspiring to me, it’s not that dissimilar than trying to get melodies out of a modular synthesizer.
