Kelly Finnigan released his first Christmas record A Joyful Sound in the winter of 2020, and it soon gained more attention than he bargained for, particularly among DJs. Now, to honor Finnigan’s roots as a longtime 45 collector, there will be a limited-edition, one time pressing, box set arriving on Black Friday Record Store Day. Kelly Finnigan has always been a champion of physical music so there will be 500 copies of five 45s from Colemine Records, which encompass the entirety of the original record, with specially designed label art for each.

A Joyful Sound combines Soul and R&B record with a joyful holiday angle. With plenty of supporting cast from the contemporary Soul scene, the album features members of Durand Jones & The Indications, The Dap-Kings, Ghost Funk Orchestra, Monophonics, Thee Sinseers, Orgone, Ikebe Shakedown, Jason Joshua & The Beholders, The True Loves, Neal Francis, Jungle Fire, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Ben Pirani, The Jive Turkeys, The Ironsides, The Harlem Gospel Travelers, Rudy De Anda, Alanna Royale, and more.

Inspired by records like Atlantic’s Soul Christmas, Phil Spector’s A Christmas Gift For You and Rotary Connection’s Peace, this album takes aim at Soul music lovers as well as holiday music fans.
