Singer/songwriter Maggie Rose has shared the single, Underestimate Me” with an empowering goal. The anthem kicks off a new chapter in Rose’s musical journey as her first release with her new label partner, Big Loud. She also recently joined St. Paul & The Broken Bones for an extensive Fall theater tour.

Maggie Rose co-wrote the track with Chris Gelbuda (Meghan Trainor) and Henry Brill (Joy Oladokun), with production by the Grammy-Award winning Ben Tanner, who mixed it with Grammy-nominated Bobby Holland.

Notable players on “Underestimate Me” include two members of Jason Isbell’s 400 Unit, guitarist Sadler Vaden and drummer Chad Gamble, keyboardist Peter Levin (Amanda Shires, Gregg Allman), keyboardist Kaitlyn Conner, and guitarist Kyle Lewis from Maggie’s own band, and bassist Zac Cockrell from Alabama Shakes.

Maggie Rose comments:

I always ask women, ‘What’s your superpower?’ Many of them say that they feel being underestimated is their superpower, because they just blow people’s expectations out of the water.  It’s a song for people to wake up and brush their teeth to in the morning when they’re trying to gas themselves up for a good day.

The music video was shot in Rose’s homebase of Nashville, Tennessee and directed by Noah Tidmore.

As a fixture of the Nashville community, Maggie Rose has carved out a unique path for herself, refusing to be pigeonholed in any one genre.  A true road warrior, she has shared the stage with artists including Kelly Clarkson, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Heart, Joan Jett, Eric Church, Gov’t Mule, The Mavericks, Fitz & The Tantrums, and The Revivalists to name a few
