The Sleeping have released their new single and video “Tainted”, the third single from the band’s upcoming fifth album I Feel Like I’m Becoming a Ghost, set for self-release on August 18th, 2023. For the new album, the band are taking their Post-Hardcore and Alternative roots and blending them with a Post-Punk influence.
Adam Thomson (The Mars Volta, RX Bandits, At The Drive-In) directed the video for “Tainted”.
Speaking on writing “Tainted,” vocalist Douglas Robinson states:
This song is written about the anxieties we all face in our everyday struggles. It’s a song told through the eyes of a revolution calling to try and unify people suffering from any struggles that try and take us away from our sanity and happiness.
The band will celebrate the new album with four recently announced shows in New York City, Providence, RI, Albany, NY, and Harrisburg, PA.
The Sleeping have released four albums, touring with acts like Taking Back Sunday and Bayside, and have frequently had their music featured in video game soundtracks.

Preparing for the release of I Feel Like I’m Becoming a Ghost, the band launched a Kickstarter to self-release the record. They hit their goal in just ten days and saw an outpouring of support from fans and friends across the globe.
For I Feel Like I’m Becoming a Ghost, the band ventured into Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY for two weeks and wrote and recorded every song together in that time frame.
The album “strongly focuses on mental health,” and was Produced by the band alongside Mike Birnbaum and Chris Bittner (Coheed & Cambria, Medeski, Team Sleep). It was mastered by Chris Athens (Beastie Boys, Blink 182). The Sleeping is Douglas Robinson (vocals), Joe Zizzo (drums), Sal Mignano (bass), and Cameron Keym (guitar/keys).
