Solo artist and founder of The Raconteurs, Brendan Benson, has released a new music video for his track “I Missed That Plane” from his album Low Key. Low Key has also recently arrived on Limited Edition 180 gram blue vinyl LP and digital/streaming platforms via Schnitzel Records. The new album was recorded at Readymade Studio in Nashville.

Benson had just finished his seventh album, Dear Life, in 2019 when his world came to a stop. That led him to work on new material, hoping for a time to share them with the world. Two years of semi-isolation pushed Benson’s song-writing into new places.

Low Key became his chance to “explore how lives and relationships changed during the lengthy isolation from the normal interactions of everyday life”.

He reflects:

The lockdown afforded people the opportunity to cut ties – or maybe it caused people to do that. Whatever the case may be, a lot of people fell out. But then relationships ending is one of my favourite topics for song writing.

Benson is excited to tour again, not just in support of Low Key but Dear Life as well. Low Key, he feels, “works as a coda for Dear Life, almost a sequel.” For that reason they will be played together.
