Progressive Death Metal outfit Revocation have released a new music video for the song “Godforsaken”, off the band’s current album, Netherheaven, out from Metal Blade Records. The video was directed by David Brodsky and Allie Woest of My Good Eye ( The track itself reverses expectations based on religious iconography and traditions.

Guitarist and vocalist David Davidson explains:

‘Godforsaken’ tackles the idea of the Rapture, but with a twist. God has had enough of the human race and decides to cast his creation into the fire. As Doomsday cult preppers and holier than thou preachers prepare to ascend they realize their God has forsaken them and damned them to Hell. I was raised Catholic. I went to Catholic school. That symbolism and iconography are ingrained in me so I thought it would be cool to invert that imagery all in the name of death metal.

Davidson says about the video:

Heavy metal heathens rejoice! Today we premiere our new music video for Godforsaken which was once again filmed by the dynamic duo of directors, David Brodsky and Allie Woest. We’ll be playing this one live for the next few months on our upcoming world tour, get ready to do some calisthenics in the pit for this banger!
