Scottish Rock band We Were Promised Jetpacks and Big Scary Monsters have announced the release of A Complete One-Eighty digitally and on limited edition vinyl. The EP, which includes artwork by Dave Thomas, features reworked versions of songs from their album Enjoy The View and remixes by Manchester Orchestra, Andy Monaghan and Zoe Graham.
After getting back out on the road again, the band thought it would be fun to revisit several tracks from Enjoy The View and take another new approach. Soon after their six-week tour of North America wrapped in April 2022, they decided to have another crack at some of these songs and see where else they could take them. The idea for A Complete One-Eighty was “to go into the studio and just see where the songs went from there”.
On the EP the band says:
We have absolutely loved playing music and spending more time with Andy Monaghan and jumped at the chance to head into the studio with him and make some different decisions!
We also thought it would be great to see where other people could take some of those songs and are so delighted that we’re lucky enough to have Andy, Manchester Orchestra and Zoe Graham put their own spin them and make them something that we could never have done.
