Atlanta-based Pop/Rock band glimmers has shared new single Midas Touch via Common Ground Collective. The upbeat vibe of the track is juxtaposed with “melancholy lyrics” as they reflect on how we can self-sabotage a relationship.

Lead singer Maggie Schneider says of the song:

‘Midas Touch’ was a really fun track to record. While this is probably the most simplistic arrangement, we wanted it to have that fun pop/rock vibe. I wrote this song with Nick Pena (lostbody) about the idea of self-sabotage. It’s about being wildly into someone, but continuing to want more and more out of the relationship. Thus, bridges begin to burn, and everything starts falling apart. The myth of King Midas is all about being happy with what you have, and this song is an homage to the story.

The band also shares the music video for the track, the second in a collection of cinematic music videos that “follow the journey of finding yourself as you go through the ups and downs of a relationship”. “Midas Touch” follows the band’s previous singles, “Dreaming” and “Scared to Lose,” shared earlier this year.

The band is currently gearing up to head out on their Southwest Dreaming Tour this Fall. They are visiting over 10 cities across the southwest including stops in Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV before wrapping up in Nashville, TN at The Cobra on December 11th, 2022.

They also recently announced that they’ll be supporting Boys of Fall on their upcoming 2023 tour. Beginning on February 15th with a show at the Masquerade in Atlanta, GA, glimmers will be joining for five dates of tour before wrapping on February 19th, 2023 in Dallas, TX at Tulips.
