Singer/songwriter Pony Bradshaw has released both the title track and “Mosquitoes” from his upcoming album, North Georgia Rounder, which comes out on January 27th, 2023 via Soundly Music. North Georgia Rounder draws on the spirit of North Georgia’s hill-country and mountains, the area he calls home.

The title track “North Georgia Rounder” is folk tale-like, following a traveling music man whereas “Mosquitoes” is a darker parable of addiction and despair. Bradshaw also cites the theme of the album, as a whole, as “balance”. As a touring musician, he finds it hard to find an orderly life that balances work and family.

He says, citing a quote from poet Wendell Berry:

The poet soon stops experimenting and innovating and starts his life’s work, a culmination of sweat and work and joy and pain and anger and patience and restraint.

North Georgia Rounder follows Bradshaw’s 2021 release Calico Jim. Bradshaw has also just announced a 2023 headline run, beginning with a release day show on January 27th, 2023 in Nashville, TN at The Basement.
