Movie Club Celebrates Halloween With A Color Version Of Their Spooky “Black Flamingo” Video

In the spirit of Halloween this year, Venice Beach instrumental Psych Rock duo Movie Club have unveiled a special surprise, a return to the “spirit house” in the video for “Black Flamingo”, but this time in a vivid colorized version. Originally released in black and white in 2020, the video has now been taken in hand by director and magician Ran Pink to arrive in a multi-color version.

Most people who watched the original release of the “Black Flamingo” video wondered how it was made and the short answer is that it was shot with a “macro lens” used to shoot miniatures and plants as if they were “real sized.” Combined with green screen technology and some video editing, the spooky video was born.

Drummer Jessamyn Violet and guitarist Vince Cuneo have always had a mission of blending their music with film and won several international film awards for their music video “Trap Door” this year, including Best Music Video at the Istanbul Film Awards.

“Black Flamingo” features special guests Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters/Wallflowers) on keys, Jessy Greene (P!NK) on violin, and Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie) on bass.

Movie Club is currently working on a new record and is planning their first U.S. tour in Spring of 2023
