Cumulus Reaches For The Light With ‘Something Brighter’

Cumulus’ new album Something Brighter has recently been released via Share It Music! As the title might suggest, the latest LP from the Pacific Northwest musician also known as Alexanra Lockhart addresses our “turbulent and otherwise challenging times”. The single and video for the song “Sunbeam” are also available.

Lockhart found many of the events at the end of 2019 leading to interesting territory, including revisiting her college town of Bellingham, Washington. Back in that scenery that had started her down the road toward songwriting, she was able to reflect and build something new with this album, Something Brighter.

Encompassing “gratitude and the bittersweetness of learning from the past”, the new album seeks to learn from mistakes and “reach for the light” despite “being written and recorded during some of the scariest and darkest of times”.
