Grammy-Nominated multi-instrumentalist artist Hunter Hayes has released a new ballad “Friend,” accompanied by a music video. The song explores the shift in a relationship and the value of friendship, and it was written in collaboration with Rollo (Noah Cyrus, Ava Max, Charli XCX) and Dan Gleyzer (Meghan Trainor, Madison Beer).
In discussing the single, Hayes says:
At its core, ‘Friend’ is about how sometimes the hardest part of a relationship not working out is losing that person you connected with in the beginning, that companion you wish you could keep, that friend you can’t imagine your life without.

Hayes has charted his own path, moving from his Country roots into genre-bending. On his forthcoming new album, Red Sky, he plays every instrument. In addition to his headlining shows, Hayes has also toured with Taylor Swift and others. He has received over 50 award nominations and wins, including five Grammy nominations.
