Kiki Holli’s “Play To Lose” Reminds You To Know Your Own Worth

LA-based singer/songwriter and Indie-Pop artist Kiki Holli has released new single “Play To Lose”, as well as a visualizer video, following on from her June debut of original track “New High”. The new track was co-written by Kiki Holli (aka Kirsten Holly Smith), Jonathan Michael Vankin, Willy Washington, Michele Chiavarini, and Ethan Allen (Mavis Staples, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Sheryl Crow). Ethan Allen also Produced and mixed the track, and it features drummer Keith Larsen.

With “Play To Lose”, KiKi Holli examines “leaving a toxic relationship and finding your voice and confidence in the end”. It sets out to “remind the listener to know your own worth and find your power even in the most hopeless of situations”. Both “New High” and “Play To Lose” give us hints about themes and sound directions Holli may be taking on her forthcoming album.

Kiki Holli previously released a cover of Roxy Music’s “More Than This” as part of a healing journey of her own, and most notably, co-wrote and starred in Forever Dusty, a stage musical based on the life of British pop star Dusty Springfield. The production opened off-Broadway in 2012. From there, the play went on to run in Los Angeles and London, as well as other cities in the U.S. and U.K.
