The Ransom Brothers Want ‘Resurgence’ To Be A Breath Of Fresh Air

The Ransom Brothers will release new album Resurgence on August 26th, 2022. The flashpoint for the group was a shared taste in guitars and vinyl records that expanded to Classic Southern Rock and Outlaw Country music. Singer/songwriter Sean McHargue and guitarist Daniel Solis started off as an Austin-based duo, but have grown to include Phil Eckhardt on bass, Austin Wilson on drums and John Thomas on fiddle.

The Ransom Brothers draw their influence from legends such as Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Allman Brothers Band, as well as modern icons like Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, and Whiskey Myers. They also “have every intention of going off the beaten path and creating their own image and sound”.

The new album sets out to be a “blend of past and present” but they also hope to “reinvigorate some musical corners that have gone little stale”.

McHargue comments:

We want this album to be a shot in the arm. A breath of fresh air. A resurgence.
