Oberst & Buchner Blend Electronics, Instrumentals, And Field Recordings For ‘Marble Arch’

The second long-player of Vienna- and Berlin-based artists Oberst & Buchner, titled Marble Arch is about to be released on September 16th, 2022 after several singles including prominent remixes by Kalipo, Mala Ika, Wiener Planquadrat, Tal Fussman, Shubostar, Damon Jee & Darlyn Vlys. The album will be available in various formats, including deluxe double vinyl.

The duo’s two-week artist residency in a 250-year-old house, located in the evocative landscape of the Bavarian woods inspired the mood for the 10-track album which mixes electronic synthesis, organic instrumentals, and field recordings.

The cover art to Marble Arch depicts the juxtapositions that concern the musicians including the creation of a “sound wall” contrasted by “spacious openness”. Oberst & Buchner compose their song structures as “extreme arcs of suspense in a near classical manner”. The alternation between rise and explosion or implosion and fall has a similar feeling to the cover art.
