Portland-based Indie Rockers Forty Feet Tall have an upcoming EP, Boil, out on September 23rd, 2022, via Magnetic Moon. They’ve released the title track, which started out as a demo in singer Cole Gann’s bedroom and became a “rage-filled song directed at creeps and misogynists everywhere.”
They describe “Boil” as their “hardest-hitting song to date” and one that represents their EP well. The song’s video is “cartoonishly harrowing” and directed by Sela Shiloni, set up like a horror film whose villain is a “bloody zombified creep” who disguises his true self before his date.
The band’s upcoming EP, Boil, moves forward from their previous record A Good Distraction, which focused mainly on the effects the pandemic and the political climate had on the band. Boil draws on the effects of being “cooped up” instead.
Most recently, you may have heard their original songs on Showtime’s Shameless, several MTV spots, in the Paramount feature Drunk Wedding, or in Arnold Schwarzenegger film Killing Gunther.
