The Tim Seisser Trio (TS3) has announced the release of their debut album It’s Just O.K. arriving May 19th. The Chicago-born bassist Tim Seisser put together a really specific “dream team” to create the album, including prolific bassist and Producer Tim Lefebvre, who both Produced and performed on the album.

After Seisser wrote the record with a local keyboardist and drummer, the trio went into the studio with Lefebvre to record nine tracks that set out to “bend the meaning of Prog and Jazz fusion”.  The group will also be celebrating the release of the album with a performance at The Sanctuary in Chicago.

Special guests Donny McCaslin (David Bowie), Howard Levy (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones), and Fareed Haque (Garaj Mahal) also contributed to the varied album.

Tim Seisser is actually a luthier who has been building beautiful basses and playing bass in bands for years and at the start of the pandemic, he decided to collaborate with two Jazz musician friends, keyboardist Andrew Lawrence and drummer Jonathan Marks in the creation of this album.

Tim Lefebvre comments on his experience:

It was a joy to watch these Chicago shredders track this record. All of them are total masters of their instruments. Thanks to Seisser for letting me steer the ship in some alternative directions!

The album was also mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Marc Nelson.
