Kansas City-based alternative rock band Search & Seizure have released new single “Save Us From Ourselves”, the first from their upcoming LP Nothing Natural. “Save Us From Ourselves”, serves as a thematic and musical centerpiece for Nothing Natural, and is the first new material since the band’s Outer Space EP in 2020.
The song is also accompanied by a lyric video, which is made up of footage pulled from a variety of old black and white movies, tv shows, and cartoons that have been “stitched together to subtly connect to some of the themes and lyrics of the song:
Talking about the new song, lead singer and bassist Gene Abramov comments:
This was one of the first songs we wrote for this album. It sets the tone for the rest of the songs and the general mood for them. The keyboards in the choruses were a newer element for our band and one that we used on more than just this song. This album was the first time we have written and recorded as a three-piece (guitar / bass / drums) which was different but a much-needed change.
Search & Seizure blends heavier Rock influences with some softer melodic elements borrowed from Indie Rock and Shoegaze. Nothing Natural will be self-released on May 20th, 2022.
