DJ Notoya Presents An All-Analog Mix Of City Pop Compilation ‘Tokyo Glow’

Japanese label Nippon Columbia is celebrating the worldwide release of their new City Pop compilation, TOKYO GLOW, with an all-analog mix performed by DJ Notoya on his Technics SL-1200 turntable.  Filmed at Technics Sound Trailer in Tokyo TOKYO GLOW: Japanese City Pop Nonstop DJ Mix features favorites off the new comp (such as Kiyohiko Ozaki’s “Ojousan Oyawarakani” and Kengo Kurozumi’s “Juggler”) and a variety of rare tracks from Nippon Columbia’s extensive and varied catalog.

With Japan’s City Pop genre gaining worldwide attention, Nippon Columbia announced the TOKYO GLOW collection in October, exploring City Pop, Funk, and Soul of the late ‘70s and ‘80s, all carefully curated by Tokyo-based DJ/curator/City Pop expert DJ Notoya. Released digitally by Nippon Columbia and in 2-LP/CD formats by France’s WeWantSounds on December 10th, the 18-track compilation features cult classics and rarities (by artists such as Hiroshi Sato, Hatsumi Shibata, Hitomi ‘Penny’ Tohyama, and Midori Hara), many of which are being released digitally for the first time and making their vinyl debut outside of Japan.
