Watch Poetica’s Video For “Unconditional” From Their Musical Spoken-Word Concept Album

Poetica has released an official video for “Unconditional”, the latest track from their self-titled album, out now via MPress/ILS/Universal. The new 18-track collection is a musical spoken-word concept album and the video was filmed in the Hudson Valley of New York, art directed by Rachael Sage and directed by award-winning filmmaker Nick Clark.

Poetica is a collaborative spoken word music project helmed by New York-based songwriter Rachael Sage and Grammy nominated cellist Dave Eggar, and the new track features trumpet player Russ Johnson (Elvis Costello) and ambient electric guitarist Gerry Leonard (David Bowie).

The project has also recently released companion piece Poetica Instrumentals. The album came together from over 200 poems written both during and prior to lockdown, and Eggar’s parents, who are both poetry professors, volunteered to help Sage select the 18 spoken-word pieces that eventually comprised the album.
