Watch Boston Rockers The Nervous Eaters’ Video For “Where’s Johnny Now?”

Boston Rock ’n’ Roll band Nervous Eaters have released the video for “Where’s Johnny Now”, the first single from their forthcoming album, Eat or Be Eaten, out January 15, 2027, via Stevie Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records.

Created by Vincent J. Straggas, the video incorporates footage from the 1949 crime film Johnny Stool Pigeon, bringing a vintage cinematic backdrop to the band’s Garage Rock ’n’ Roll energy.

Already part of the Nervous Eaters’ live repertoire by 1979, “Where’s Johnny Now” reaches back to the band’s early days while “carrying a message that remains just as urgent: the hope of reaching a friend before they slip too far away.”

Singer/guitarist, and songwriter Steve Cataldo shares:

Everybody has a Johnny in their life, with any luck friends can pull them back into the Real World before he’s gone gone gone!

The new album, like this track, reflects the Punk spirit that helped make them a cornerstone of Boston’s early underground scene. Featuring newly recorded songs drawn from the band’s history, Eat or Be Eaten also includes “C.A.L.F.L.A.” which was released in 2025.

Emerging in 1976, Nervous Eaters became closely associated with Boston’s Rat nightclub. Led by Cataldo, the band developed a sound rooted in Blues, Garage Rock and Rock ’n’ Roll, helping shape the city’s formative Punk scene.
