Recently, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Wyatt McCubbin released his debut album 650 via Dave Cobb’s Lucille Records/MCA. After more than 15 years establishing himself as a songwriter for other artists, McCubbin has turned to his own story on the 10-song collection, “drawing on his family, his journey to sobriety, and a lifelong connection to country music shaped by years spent listening to the radio and working as a DJ in his native Ohio.”

Also recently, McCubbin released the official music video for “Boy In The Boat,” the centerpiece to 650 he wrote for his two-year-old son Autry.

He says:

Just when you think a song like ‘Boy In The Boat’ can’t make you cry again… here comes the music video. This video dusts off a lot of memories & stirs them up until they all get in your eyes.

Director Nathaniel Maddux adds:

The first time I heard ‘Boy In The Boat,’ it felt like a thousand stories were being told in one song. For the music video, we drew from six decades of footage to tell one collective story of fathers and sons sharing a moment—a nostalgic blip in time that stays with us fathers forever.

Recorded live to tape at Cobb’s Thunderbolt Studios in Savannah, GA, 650 is the culmination of over 2,000 songs Wyatt has written over the last decade and a half. He explains, “This 36 minutes is really 16 years in the making.”

Following an extensive tour supporting Zach Tip and a run of album release shows, McCubbin will hit the road in 2027 for a run of 12 shows supporting Luke Combs on his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour. Find a full list of tour dates below or visit his website.
