Vesperian has announced that they have welcomed The Mosaic Window, the Black Metal project of Andrew Steven Brown, to the roster. Their new single, “What Sage Could Not Cleanse” is out now, with a new studio album, Answered Prayers, out November 13, 2026.

For this project, Brown pulls back from the more polished, Prog-tinged Death/Black Metal hybrid of 2024’s Hemasanctum and returns to the band’s original core. That includes the first and second wave Black Metal, filtered through atmospheric elements and “death growls.” The vision for the album is nihilistic: “humanity erased retroactively, centuries before the Industrial Revolution, as the only cure for a poisoned world.”

The single “What Sage Could Not Cleanse” is an older composition, and it anchors the album’s back-to-roots direction. It also has a “statement of intent” for the album, “no ritual can purify what’s already beyond saving.”

Answered Prayers was mixed and mastered by Alex Sedin (Ghostalgy Productions), with Dmitry Kim (Jinjer and others) on session drums.

The cover artwork was created by Luciana Nedelea (Mare Cognitum, Sepulchral Curse and others).
