Just in time for Halloween, Palmyra Delran and the Doppel Gang are summoning the spirit of Joey Ramone with their new digital single, “Spirit In My House”, out now via Wicked Cool Records.

Originally recorded by Joey Ramone, “Spirit In My House” entered Delran’s repertoire several years ago during preparations for one of the annual celebrations honoring Joey’s birthday. Rather than reaching for one of his best-known songs, Delran dug deeper into his solo catalog, choosing “Spirit In My House” and “Mr. Punchy” for the occasion.

Delran recalls:

Joey Ramone’s brother Mickey Leigh invited my band The Doppel Gang to play a few songs for one of the yearly Joey birthday bash celebrations a few years back. I thought it would be great to learn a few of Joey’s lesser known solo songs—‘Spirit In My House’ and ‘Mr Punchy.’ My pals at Wicked Cool Records heard ‘Spirit In My House’ and thought it would be perfect to release around Halloween. I think it totally nails the vibe of our favorite holiday!

Delran and the Doppel Gang bring their own Garage-Rock punch to “Spirit In My House,” which follows Delran and the Doppel Gang’s April single “Hold Tight,” their take on the 1960s Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich favorite.
