East Los Angeles Garage-Punk band Hyper Minds have released their debut full-length album album, The Dog You Feed, out now via DC-Jam Records, distributed by Virgin Music Group.

The Dog You Feed “channels the anxiety, frustration and restless momentum” at the heart of Hyper Minds. The aggressive collection was created to “empower listeners, offer connection and provide a release for anyone who needs to blow off some steam.”

Vocalist and guitarist Roland O’Cello says:

The Dog You Feed is an album that champions the people that feel it’s hard to stick up for themselves, those that struggle to feel seen or heard and those that are battling silent struggles. Throughout my life, it’s been a huge challenge for me to feel seen and heard. I always felt like an outsider. At a certain point, I grew tired of not feeling understood and realized that music may be my best outlet to express my feelings—and hopefully someone would listen.

The Dog You Feed is an album that I hope finds the people that need it or can benefit from its expressions, both lyrically and musically. It’s a fast-paced, aggressive collection of songs that are meant to empower and pump up those who feel they need it or want to blow off some steam.

Formed in 2024, Hyper Minds’ lineup features Roland O’Cello on guitar and vocals, Juan Rodriguez on bass, Omar Gutierrez on drums and Robert Canales on lead guitar.

O’Cello adds:

We gave everything we possibly had in the tank to get this album right, and after nearly two years of relentless dedication to the project, we are insanely proud to call The Dog You Feed our first full-length album. We hope you enjoy it!

Hyper Minds will bring the album to stages throughout Los Angeles over the coming weeks.
