Caspian, the Massachusetts Instrumental Post-Rock band who have been operating for over twenty years, have released “Far Country”, the second and final preview of their self-titled sixth album, due out Oct. 16, 2026, via Wax Bodega.

The “Far Country” visualizer is a film by Luke Webster Brown & Elijah Sussman.

Phillip Jamieson shares:

Letting everything but our distortion pedals collect dust for ‘Far Country’ was initially a little frightening, but very quickly became fun as hell. Stripping not only the song structures themselves, but also the tools used to make them, down to only what was absolutely necessary felt vital for this one, which we hope is emblematic of our current ethos and the record in general.

The band recorded Caspian in the Spring of this year with producer Brett Romnes (Hot Mulligan, The Movielife), resisting the urge to reinvent themselves for reinvention’s sake. Focusing on melodies and “crushing heaviness” remain central to Caspian’s sound, but on their self-titled album, the band finds new possibilities, “letting patience, repetition, and instinct carry as much weight as surprise.”
