Southern California Soul six-piece The Charities have released new single “Movin’ On”, out digitally now, followed by a limited 7-inch vinyl release on October 23rd, 2026 via Colemine Records. It’s accompanied by a video.

Originally formed by songwriter/lead vocalist Brock Van Pelt in 2017, The Charities hail from California’s Central Coast. The band blends 1960s sweet Soul with elements of Funk, R&B and Gospel.

Over the last few years, The Charities have had a run of releases while sharing the stage with Thee Sacred Souls, Durand Jones & The Indications, The Altons, Los Yesterdays, and Colemine Records labelmates, Thee Sinseers.

“Movin’ On” was recorded at Penrose Recorders in Riverside, CA. The track is about “heartbreak, resilience, and moving forward”, and was brought to life through the creative partnership between the band and long time collaborator, Anthony Masino.

Songwriter, producer, arranger, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist, Masino has become very involved in Southern California’s modern Soul movement. He has engineered sessions for artists including Bruno Mars, Thee Sacred Souls, The Altons, Lee Fields and Aaron Frazer, while producing and co-writing for Junior Scaife, Jensine Benitez, and Trish Toledo.

Supporting the release of the 45, fans in the United States can catch The Charities opening for Thee Sinseers on a thirteen-date tour this Fall, followed by an arena show supporting Soul greats War and Barbara Mason in Long Beach, CA on November 28th.
